Experimental Augmented Reality project by Nexus Innovation. Recreates architectural landmarks in Florina, Greece, using 3D models and location-based AR. Visitors can view historic buildings in their original sites through a mobile device, blending past and present in real space.
Using a mobile device on-site, visitors can point their camera toward specific locations in Florina to reveal 3D reconstructions of vanished buildings. This immersive experience reconnects the community with its architectural and cultural heritage, allowing viewers to explore and reflect on how urban memory can be preserved through digital means.
The application is currently in an experimental stage. Our team continues to refine the AR alignment, lighting, and user interface, with the goal of releasing a working prototype that enables wider use in educational and cultural heritage contexts.
